The Cabinet Maker

While the news media tend to depict negative images of Chicago's south side, the region is rich in artistic history.

Chicago documentary filmmaker, Adewole Abioye (center), tells the story of a cultural institution that has been celebrating Black life through art as a fixture in Chicago's Chatham community for over 45 years.

The film is expected to broadcast on PBS February 2027 to celebrate Black History Month.
